About Spaying and Neutering your Siberian Husky

There are many benefits to spaying/neutering your dog. Altering your pet will increase his/her chance of a longer and healthier life. It will increase his/her life an average of 1 to 3 years. Altered animals have a very low, to no risk of mammary gland tumor/cancer, prostate cancer, perianal tumors, pyometia, uterine, ovarian and testicular cancers.
Benefits to Neutering (males):
- Reduced or eliminates risk of marking
- Less desire to roam, therefore less likely to be injured in fights or auto accidents
- Decreased aggressive behavior
- Frequently helps with behavior problems
Benefits to Neutering (females):
- No heat cycle, therefore males will not be attracted (males can smell a female in heat from over a mile away)
- No mess to clean up when she's in heat (which lasts an average of 14 days)
- Decreased aggressive behavior
We recommend that you speak to your veterinarian, so they can discuss the procedure with you. And they can recommend an age, that is best for your puppy.
